Museo Correr at a glance
The Museo Correr has been housed in the Ala Napoleonica and parts of the Procuratie Nuove since 1922. It grew from the bequest of Teodoro Correr to the city in 1830, and the collection has been open to the public since 1836.
The standard ticket is called "I Musei di Piazza San Marco". It links four visits: the Correr, the Archaeological Museum, the monumental rooms of the Biblioteca Marciana and the Doge's Palace. The palace has its own guide at visitvenezia.org, so this page stays with the rooms on the square.
This site is independent. It is not run by the museum or its operator, and prices and hours below can change. Check the operator's page before you buy.

Hours and closures
Two sets of rules apply, depending on which entrance you use.
Correr, summer
From 1 April to 31 October the museum is open 10:00–18:00, with last entry at 17:00. Clearing of the rooms begins 30 minutes before closing, so do not plan to use the last half hour.
Correr, winter
From 1 November to 31 March the hours are 10:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:00. The Correr page lists no weekly closing day. Check the calendar for public holidays before you go.
Archaeology and Marciana entrance
The Piazzetta entrance is open daily, 10:00–18:00 in summer and 10:00–17:00 in winter. It is closed on 1 January and 25 December. On Mondays that are not holidays, access runs through the Correr.
Canova room closed
Hall III of the Canova collection has been closed for maintenance since 29 October 2025, and the notice is still posted. Do not expect every room to be open on your visit.
What the visit includes
A museum, an archaeological collection and a library.
The Correr rooms
The collection started with Teodoro Correr's bequest and now fills rooms inside the Ala Napoleonica and parts of the Procuratie Nuove. The Ala Napoleonica was finished in 1836 under Austrian rule. Its grand rooms and staircase were the reason for the rebuilding.
How the square was built →The Marciana library rooms
The "Sale Monumentali" are the museum part of the Biblioteca Marciana. They are on the ticket. The ticket is for these rooms, so do not expect to use the research reading room or borrow books as a visitor.
The Archaeological Museum
It is part of the standard ticket and has its own entrance on the Piazzetta, at number 17. That entrance is the cheaper option if you want only this museum and the Marciana rooms.
The clock tower route
The Torre dell'Orologio visit is a separate reserved tour for €15 (€11 reduced). Its ticket also gives access to the Correr, Archaeological Museum and Marciana route. The Doge's Palace is not included.
Clock tower guide →The Human Safety Net
In the Procuratie Vecchie, at Piazza San Marco 105, an interactive exhibition called "A World of Potential" fills the third floor. Entry is free with a voluntary donation. Hours are 10:00–19:00 from 1 April to 31 October and 10:00–18:00 from 1 November to 31 March, with last entry 50 minutes before closing. It is closed on Tuesdays. It is a separate organisation, not part of the city museums.
